Associate Courts, as created by Texas Government Code, Chapter 54, assist the District Courts and County Courts at Law in presiding over felony and misdemeanor criminal cases, family law matters, and civil commitments.
The mission of the Associate Courts is to provide fair, impartial, and timely resolution of cases while upholding the rule of law and protecting the rights of all parties. Through professionalism, integrity, and judicial efficiency, the Associate Courts support the administration of justice by assisting the District Courts and County Courts at Law in managing caseloads, promoting access to the courts, and ensuring that every person is treated with dignity, respect, and due process.
If you are coming to the courthouse for your court date, please note the following:
- Allow extra time for getting through security.
- Prior to coming to court, please review the dress code and court rules.
- Remember to bring your setting notice to find the appropriate courtroom.
No child under the age of 18 will be permitted in the courtroom. Because of the sensitive nature of the matters addressed by this Court, the courtroom is not an appropriate setting for minors.

You must attend all court settings unless you have prior approval by the court to reset your case. If you fail to appear at your court appearance, a warrant will be issued for your arrest. Hospital excuses are not sufficient to excuse your court appearance unless it is a life threatening circumstance.
